In the green, close to everything

Our motorhome site lies in the heart of Hemer, right by the Museumspark and just a few steps from the Felsenmeer Museum. On around 1,600 m² there is room for up to 20 motorhomes – relaxed, no reservation, on the principle: first come, first served.

The operator is a miller by trade – which is why there are no advance reservations. There is almost always a spot free. Exception: weekends with big concerts in the Sauerlandpark.

Caravans are unfortunately not allowed. Motorhomes and campervans only.

Site rules

Translation for information only. Only the German version is binding.

Welcome! These site rules are short, because common sense covers most things on its own. They exist for the rest. They form part of the usage contract (§ 5 of the Terms) and apply to everyone travelling with you – including visitors and four-legged companions.

The basic rule: Other guests and neighbours must never be bothered, disturbed or inconvenienced – not by noise, smoke, smells, light, animals or behaviour. Everything that follows is simply the long version of this sentence.

🔇 1. Quiet and noise

  • Quiet hours are from 10 pm to 7 am. During this time nothing that could disturb others may be audible outside your vehicle. Please keep outdoor conversations quiet – or move inside and close the door. Sound carries far on a motorhome site, and motorhome walls are thinner than you think.
  • During the day, too: music, radio and TV only so loud that they cannot be heard beyond your pitch. Your neighbour has their own playlist.
  • Power generators are not allowed – that is what the power posts are for.
  • Do not run engines unnecessarily, not even to warm up or to charge batteries.
  • If you arrive or leave during quiet hours, please do so quietly: close doors gently, no manoeuvring concert.

🔥 2. Barbecues and fire

  • Barbecuing is allowed – with a gas, electric or charcoal grill standing on its own legs, on your pitch and at a safe distance from vehicles, awnings and trees. Mind the wind: smoke must not drift over to your neighbours.
  • Do not place disposable barbecues directly on the grass. Never leave the grill unattended and keep water ready to put it out.
  • Open fires are prohibited. This includes campfires, fire bowls, fire baskets, Swedish torches, torches, sky lanterns and fireworks. For campfire romance we recommend the hours-long fireplace videos online – guaranteed smoke-free.
  • Put barbecue ash in the grey bin only once it has cooled completely, at the earliest the next day. Hot ash has turned many a bin into a barbecue.

🗑️ 3. Waste and disposal

  • General waste goes in tied bags into the grey bin on site – in it, not next to it and not on top of it.
  • Plastic, metal and composite packaging (yoghurt pots, cans, drink cartons) goes in the yellow bin.
  • Glass can go into the bottle banks in the car park on the other side of the museum – or into the collection box next to the bins, and the site warden will take it away. Please do not dispose of glass during quiet hours: it clinks louder than you think.
  • Please take bulky items, electrical appliances, batteries, gas cartridges, used oil and chemicals away with you.
  • Toilet cassettes are emptied only at the service station. Grey water only at the designated drain.
  • Never empty black water tanks into the grey water drain. It is an ordinary street drain. The service station is under video surveillance; violations will be reported to the police.
  • No waste water, oil or washing-up water on the ground or on green areas.
  • Leave your pitch as you found it – or a little nicer.

🚐 4. Pitch and vehicle

  • The site is for motorhomes and campervans. Caravans and tents are not permitted.
  • Use of the site requires valid payment. The booking applies to the licence plate entered. If you paid in cash, place the receipt clearly visible behind the windscreen.
  • Awning, table and chairs are fine – but only within your own pitch. Awning tents, gazebos, fences and other structures are not permitted. Nor is “saving” pitches for friends.
  • Access roads and emergency routes must be kept clear. Drive at walking pace on site.
  • Washing vehicles, oil changes and repairs are not allowed. Breakdown assistance is of course fine.
  • Lay power cables so that nobody trips over them, and use only cables approved for outdoor use.
  • Up to 6 consecutive days can be booked online. Longer stays only by arrangement with the site warden. Long-term camping and taking up residence are not allowed.

🐕 5. Pets

  • Dogs are very welcome, but must be kept on a lead on the site.
  • Pick up after your dog immediately and put it in the grey bin.
  • Dogs left alone in a vehicle barking for hours disturb others – please do not leave them unattended.

🤝 6. Getting along

  • We expect a friendly and respectful tone towards all guests, neighbours and the site warden. Insults, threats and intimidation will not be tolerated.
  • If you have a problem with other guests, please speak to the site warden instead of sorting it out yourself.
  • Instructions from the site warden and persons acting on his behalf must be followed.
  • Parents are responsible for their children – and after 10 pm for their children's volume, too.

⚖️ 7. House rules, expulsion and liability

  • The operator exercises the right to enforce house rules on the site.
  • In the event of breaches of these site rules – in particular of quiet hours, the fire ban or the duty of consideration – the operator may terminate the usage contract without notice for good cause and order you to leave the site. As a rule, a warning is given first. In serious cases, such as threats, endangering others or renewed disturbance after a warning, no warning is required.
  • After being ordered to leave, the pitch must be vacated immediately. If leaving at night is not reasonable, by 9 am the following morning at the latest.
  • If the contract is terminated because of a breach, the operator retains the fee for the booked period as compensation for the loss of the pitch. The guest may prove that no loss or a significantly lower loss has occurred.
  • Use of the site is at your own risk. The operator's liability is governed by § 7 of the Terms. Anyone who causes damage is liable under the statutory provisions. Please report any damage immediately.

Thank you! If everyone sticks to these rules, they will remain the most boring document on the site – and that is exactly how it should be. Questions and concerns: site warden, phone +49 2372 4736, Platzwart@WoMoplatz-Hemer.de.

FAQ

Can I reserve a pitch?
Reservations are not possible. The operator is a miller by trade – first come, first served (or, as millers say, first come, first ground). There is almost always a spot free. Exception: weekends with big concerts in the Sauerlandpark.
Do you check whether the pitch has been paid for?
Yes. Relentlessly, mercilessly and always when you least expect it. :-)
Seriously, though: anyone who thinks they can save the rather modest pitch fee can also expect a knock on the motorhome door around midnight. None of us really wants that, do we? Anyone with a phone and a bank account should be able to complete the not-too-complicated payment.
What you need: your payment card details, your licence plate and a rough idea of how long you want to stay. That's all.
Are pets allowed?
Yes, pets are very welcome – except for chubby non-stop yappers.
Can I have a barbecue on site?
Sure, as long as you don't disturb anyone and don't leave rubbish behind. Please put ashes in the grey bin only the next day. Thank you.
How do I pay the pitch fee?
Easily on your phone via this website – no app download needed. Just scroll down to the payment section, choose the number of days, enter your licence plate and pay. Or at the Sundwiger Mühle (three minutes' walk, towards the church).
Is there a minimum or maximum stay?
There is no minimum. The pitch can be booked for up to 6 consecutive days.
Straight talk: the toilet and using it. Not a question.
Your motorhome MUST have a toilet on board. And you MUST USE IT, even though there is plenty of greenery, bushes and trees around the site. No discussion. Our site is beautiful, and we want it to stay that way. It really goes without saying.
I drive one of those slightly bigger models with a black water tank. Can I just empty it into the drain?
NO. The drain is an ordinary street drain, for grey water only. You do know the difference between grey water and sewage, right? That is exactly why the service station is under video surveillance. Illegally emptying a black water tank into the drain will be reported to the police (and get expensive). Emptying toilet cassettes at the service station is no problem. Black water tanks can be emptied into the service station (at the back) using a hose. No other way.
I have a car with me. Can I park it near the motorhome?
As long as enough space remains for motorhomes – sure. Staff instructions must be followed. Please don't block other pitches. Goes without saying. Sleeping in the car is not permitted.
I have a disability card. Do I get a discount?
Unfortunately not. The low price of €8.00 per 24 hours only works if everyone pays.
I have a caravan. Is that a problem?
Yes, unfortunately. Our site is for motorhomes only. Caravans, folding trailers, tents and cars/vans without a toilet are not allowed on the site.
